Principal Accountant

Seven Resourcing is working with Leicester City Council to recruit a Principal Accountant for their City Development and Neighbourhood Service.

Permanent Role.

£50,803 – £54,443 per annum.

Principal Accountant – City Development and Neighbourhood

Stuart has taken Head of Finance so backfilling Principal Accountant – he is still around for questions and support etc. if needed!

Stuart happy to be supportive of people wanting to progress in their careers. Prepared to spend time with successful person to get them where they need.

Having had some direct line management experience would be ideal – team of 8 people so will be managing these people and oversee the work.

Making sure they are working effectively and working on the right things.

Remote working role – minimum requirement of coming in twice a month but will be moving a bit more back to the office

Needs to be within the scale of Grade 12

Interview as and when candidates come in – face-to-face interviews. Assessment will be done in this interview – written test for a scenario.

Detailed understanding of local government finance and accounting practice is desirable

The more public sector experience the better – doesn’t have to be LA but anything in public sector is good.

Private sector experience can be considered too if someone is looking to move into local government.

Not suitable for those who have been doing things like a payroll clerk or processing invoices.
