Seven Social Care is looking for a Principal Major Project Engineer at North Northamptonshire Council paying  £28.72 per hour Umbrella

Purpose of the job

The core purposes of the job are to progress the development and delivery of transport and highways infrastructure and investment schemes to enable the economic growth of North Northamptonshire, including the A509 Isham Bypass and major junction improvement schemes such as the A6/A510 roundabout at Finedon and junction improvements associated with the Kettering East development.

Principal responsibilities

 

      Provide the client project management lead for the development and delivery of major transport and highway schemes or packages. 

Working with local communities, funders, landowners, local planning authorities, consultants and contractors (including the Council’s highway services partner Kier) ensure effective and timely delivery of feasibility studies, preferred route decisions, environmental statements, business cases, planning applications, land purchase and statutory orders.

Working with the Council’s procurement team and senior officers, determine the procurement strategy to be followed for larger schemes, and where appropriate lead procurement of consultants and/or contractors.

Maintain effective governance and reporting arrangements, including approval and monitoring of scheme budgets, providing regular reports internally and externally as required.

Identify future funding opportunities for transport and highways infrastructure and investment and prepare or commission the preparation of such bids, including any necessary supporting work.
