Principal Management Information Systems Officer (Systems Team)

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary  Principal Management Information Systems Officer (Systems Team) to work in Gateshead. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying £22.56 (PAYE) or £28.12 (umbrella) per hour. The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. 

The role:

To manage and lead on the identification of requirements, co-ordination and development of information systems across Care, Wellbeing & Learning and to facilitate the implementation, support and development of those systems to support the group in continuous improvement and service transformation to ensure all residents of Gateshead can ‘Thrive’.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead the management and development of all IT case management systems across Care, Wellbeing and Learning.
  • To work with Service Directors and their senior teams to ensure IT systems are fit for purpose and support efficient business processes in order to ensure continuous service improvement and effectiveness linked to Value for Money (VFM).
  • To manage and oversee process work and implementation of CWL IT systems and associated documentation, training and support to ensure the efficient and effective use of information systems and accurate data input.
  • To forward plan and identify where IT systems can be rationalised, and information can be consolidated to optimise business intelligence for services
  • To act for Care, Wellbeing and Learning as the responsible officer in managing contractual relationships with IT suppliers.
  • To manage and ensure information systems are able to meet the requirements for the production of statutory data returns, within timescales prescribed by Government.
  •   To oversee, manage and ensure synergy between the development of information systems and effective business intelligence and performance reporting across CWL.
  • To directly supervise and develop identified staff, in line with council objectives, ensuring they are effectively managed, developed, supported, and deployed.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

      Level 5 qualification or significant experience in a public-sector environment in a related field. 

Experience: Identifying requirements and developing large scale computer systems.  Managing the use of ICT resources.  Developing resources to support staff in the use of Information Technology.

Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references. 

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
