Principal Social Worker

Seven Social Care are looking for a proactive, experienced, and passionate Principal Social Worker to join our team in Northampton. The successful candidate should possess a strong commitment to supporting families, individuals, and vulnerable groups within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leading the social work team, providing guidance, supervision, and mentorship to junior social workers.

2. Managing a complex caseload and providing expert opinions and advice on cases when needed.

3. Ensuring compliance with legislation, regulatory standards, and council policies in social services.

4. Overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive care plans to meet the complex needs of our service users.

5. Building strong relationships with other healthcare professionals, community agencies, and internal teams to facilitate comprehensive and collaborative care for families and individuals.

6. Conducting regular training sessions and workshops for continuous development and enhanced performance of the social work team.

7. Participating in recruitment, performance evaluations, and disciplinary procedures of the social work team.

8. Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and other professionals, ensuring all information provided is accurate and up-to-date.

Key Requirements:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work is essential; a Master’s degree would be advantageous.

2. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

3. Extensive experience in social work, with a proven track record in a leadership role.

4. Deep understanding of social work theories and their practical implementation.

5. Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively with diverse groups of clients, families, and professionals.

7. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant local and national legislation, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory standards.

8. Flexibility to work outside normal office hours, if necessary, to deal with emergencies or to meet the needs of the service’s users.
