Seven Social Care are looking for a Qualified IDVA to work in London Bridge. This is a temporary contract initially for 3 months with the possibility of placement extension. We are looking for someone who can start ASAP.

The role of a Qualified IDVA:

You will provide support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse across all levels of risk for employees of the organisation you specifically work with, from the point of referral and provide a coordinated multi agency response to safety planning. You will work in close partnership with the employer to raise the profile of the employers IDVA service within the organisation raising awareness about support available for its employees.

Key Responsibilities as a Qualified IDVA:

To address the safety of victims at high risk of harm from intimate partners, ex-partners, or family members to secure their safety and the safety of their children. This should be delivered in a multi-agency framework, working with MARAC(s)

To provide practical and emotional support to women and men experiencing domestic and sexual abuse across all level of risk and their children and to advocate for survivors to ensure their needs are met. Ensure that support planning is outcome focused and that clients inform the type and level of support that they receive

To provide a service that upholds best safeguarding practice in relation to children and adults at risk and to escalate any issues in relation to safeguarding clients and their children and / or any vulnerable adults to the Partnership Manager in the first instance

To advocate, both verbally and in writing, in a range of settings including in civil and criminal proceedings and with criminal justice professionals, external support agencies, social services, employers etc.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience of providing high-quality casework support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, including strong crisis management – dealing with challenging situations, risk assessment and safety planning.
  • Compliance: DBS on the Update Service, Right to Work in the UK
  • Hours: 23.4 hours a week. You would be required to work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with flexibility for the third day.
