Rehabilitation Support Worker (Hearing Impaired)

Seven Social Care is looking for a Rehabilitation Support worker to work within the hearing impairment team.

The role:

Post holder will be required to work collaboratively across adult social care and partner agencies to support and promote strong communities, making a real difference to the people and communities we serve, now, and for the future, whilst ensuring that we are delivering value for money. Support is delivered through a strength-based approach to create opportunities, build resilience and long-term support networks so that people live their lives as successfully, independently and as safely as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

      Specialist assessment of the equipment needs of clients with sensory impairment under the guidance of the rehab officer for Hearing impaired people.

Provision of information to assist client choice regarding equipment, including insulation demonstration and training in safe use of specialist equipment

Support Equipment officer in liaising with manufacturers/distributors of equipment and equipment loan stores when/where appropriate.

Maintaining up to date information resources within the team

Working with clients in a variety of environments inc County Council offices and client home.

To assist the equipment officer in maintaining stock control systems, in conjunction with contract holder, including delivery, collections, cleaning and safety checks, maintaining appropriate hygiene standards and electrical safety standards.

Applicant Requirements:

    • Qualifications:

GCSE or equivalent and/or relevant experience

Good standard of English and Mathematics

Good knowledge and IT ability (word processing, emailing, internet)

  • Understanding of confidentiality and information sharing protocols
  • Experience: Experienced with hearing impairments
  • Compliance: Up to date HCPC registration and DBS.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
