Residential Care Manager – Children’s home – Huddersfield

Seven Social Care is looking for a Residential Care Manager to fill an exclusive opportunity specialising in the wellbeing of children in Huddersfield.

The role:

This is an Ofsted Registered Manager post; the successful applicant must meet Ofsted registration requirements. You will need to hold Registered Manager qualifying status or working towards

Substantial experience of working in a registered residential setting with young people and their families including Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent

Skills, experience, interest, and passion to deliver good quality residential care keeping children safe whilst aspiring for the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

Extensive knowledge of the Children’s Home Regulations 2015 and the Ofsted inspection framework.

Knowledge of the physical, psychological, and social development of young people.

In-depth knowledge of Safeguarding and child protection procedures ensuring effective implementation at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Ability to establish and develop management systems and procedures, particularly those which evaluate service provision and progress of young people.

Ability to demonstrate strong and effective leadership and people management skills.

Knowledge of internal procurement and HR processes

Good knowledge of Partner processes in relation to child protection including health and social care.

Significant experience of preparation, implementation and review of documentation which ensures appropriate and effective care is provided to young people.

Significant experience of prioritisation and management of workload, attending meetings and managing resources including oversight of administrative procedures and working to deadlines.

Develop and implement plans and strategies in the medium term to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the home.

Ability to communicate and work effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to collate and use feedback from stakeholders to influence the home’s development.

Requirement for enhanced communication skills to manage complicated situations involving children with complex emotional, behavioural, and physical needs.

Requirement for precision when undertaking data analysis, budget monitoring and compiling reports as required.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience: 2+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.
  • Compliance: Up to date HCPC registration and DBS.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
