Residential Support Worker

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Residential Support Worker to work in Great Western Court within the adult’s team for Gloucestershire County Council. We are paying £18.46 per hour for this role, and have 3 positions:  27 hours, 30 hours and 32 hours per week. 

The role:

As a Residential Support Worker, you will ensure the safety and effectiveness of our services, whilst demonstrating compassion, kindness, dignity, and respect. You will be working across our CQC regulated learning disability respite services, acting as a shift lead to support wider team members and as a frontline carer, supporting individuals with all aspects of their day-to-day living, including social and physical activities, personal care, medication, mobility, and mealtimes. Your role will also involve working as part of a team to ensure the physical environment is comfortable and clean.

Key Responsibilities:

  • With support of wider management, undertake shift leader activities, including determining day-to-day responsibilities for team members
  • Support people with social and physical activities, providing emotional support and encouragement
  • Administer, prompt, or assist individuals with their medication requirements, ensuring the safe storing, handling, and use of medication
  • Assist with personal care, which may include bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
  • Maintain a clean environment by completing tasks such as changing linens and performing basic household cleaning
  • Provide mobility assistance, for example assisting individuals in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair.
  • Coordinate, follow and contribute to the creation and review of care and support plans in conjunction with the individual, their family, carers, and wider support networks – including other Multidisciplinary professionals.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths.

    Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience

  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 
  • Compliance: Current Standard DBS check. 
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
