Seven Social Care is working with Worcestershire Council to recruit an Advanced Social Work Practitioner for their children’s Safeguarding Service based in Worcester.

“To Support, mentor and assess newly qualified social workers in their assisted and supported year in employment (ASYE). Define the standards of practice and performance for the area of service/specialism so that staff can provide high quality services in line with the standards of practice and established/statutory timescales. Intervene in areas of poor practice and/or performance to secure a lasting improvement in service and individual performance. Deal with stage 1 complaints. Identify areas for learning and development in practice and assist in improvement through support, guidance and mentoring. Provide reflective supervision and support on complex cases/assessments where this would lead to practice improvements. Secure timely and effective intervention in complex cases by supporting the resolution of factors that inhibit children, young people and their families from accessing the services that will impact effectively on their lives. Intervene where practice is poor or where partner organisations are failing in their responsibilities. Provide and deliver training and development opportunities to staff and teams to improve practice and outcomes for children and young people. Carry out targeted audit activity responding to service need by case holding for interim periods.  It is essential that the post holder has: – Considerable experience (3 years +) within children’s social care working with children and young people in a statutory social care setting including those in need of safeguarding, and looked after and adopted children and young people. – Significant experience of achieving improved outcomes for children and young people. It is desirable that the post holder has: – Demonstrable experience in leading staff. – Demonstrate knowledge of quality assurance in children’s social care. – Demonstrable experience of successfully leading work/managing projects. – Experience of responding to complaints/dispute resolution. – PE 1 or PE 2 qualification – experience of supporting and mentoring practitioners. It is essential that the post holder has: – An enhanced knowledge base/skills set embedded in their experience of their work with children and families. – Ability to transfer skills and lead service improvement in a variety of areas of service. – The tenacity to repeatedly follow through indictors of service and staff performance to secure the necessary improvement in service provision. – Emotional resilience, that is, the ability to perform effectively during periods of change and stress. QUALIFICATIONS It is essential that the post holder has: – A professional qualification in social work. – Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.

Qualifications:

      Degree approved by the SWE Registration

Experience: 2+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.

Compliance: Up to date SWE registration and DBS.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
