Safeguarding Advanced Social Work Practitioner

Seven Health & Social Care are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Safeguarding Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join our team in Worcester. The successful candidate will play a central role in protecting the welfare of vulnerable groups such as children, young people, families, the elderly, or people with disabilities who are exposed to harm or abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Proactively manage and oversee safeguarding cases, taking a lead role in identifying risk and protective factors.

2. Deliver detailed and effective assessments, interventions, and reports in collaboration with multi-agency partners.

3. Lead and manage a portfolio of safeguarding cases, adapting your approach to meet the specific needs of each case.

4. Design and execute service improvement plans aligned with the department’s strategic objectives.

5. Participate in relevant meetings such as case conferences, safeguarding meetings, and core group meetings.

6. Provide advanced expertise and consultancy to colleagues and partners.

7. Deliver advanced social work-level outcomes within the context of purposeful social work practice.

8. Contribute to the development of safeguarding policy and procedures.

9. Implement a ‘children first’ approach into daily practices, and promote this ethos throughout the team.

Education and Experience:

1. A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW).

2. Significant post-qualifying experience as a social worker within children and/or adults’ services.

3. Experience of dealing with complex cases and safeguarding issues.

4. Operating in multi-agency, multi-disciplinary, statutory, or partnership-based settings.

Skills and Capabilities:

1. Strong capability and confidence to lead in a specialist area of safeguarding.

2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a wide range of individuals and groups.

3. The ability to analyse complex information and make informed decisions.

4. Robust understanding and application of child protection procedures and policies.

5. A commitment to continued professional development.

6. Travel throughout the area is a requirement of the post, therefore a full valid driving license is essential.

Above all, you need to have a deep-seated desire to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, families, and vulnerable adults, navigate challenging situations, and advocate for those who can’t advocate for themselves.
