Safeguarding Contextual Coordinator

Seven Social Care is looking for a Safeguarding Contextual Coordinator at London Borough of Hillingdon Council

The role:

Develop grassroots and community-led response to serious youth violence:

A community engagement outreach practitioner (Contextual Safeguarding Champion) – Using the Contextual Safeguarding approach, this practitioner will complete ‘Context Assessments’ and interventions that focus on decreasing SYV in specific locations in Hayes.

This will also include understanding and delivering meaningful peer group interventions to safeguard children in Hayes.

This information and intelligence will be shared with AXIS and relevant partners to improve a multiagency preventative targeted response and improve outcomes for children and families.

Identify community contextual safeguarding champions across Hayes from a range of organisations including leisure centres, youth clubs, voluntary, schools, faith based and community organisations.

This can help to identify safe spaces for the community to seek support and share information.

Commissioning The Safety Box organisation to deliver the peer led ‘Aspire Higher’ (Anti-knife) accredited program which is focused on using creative arts, increasing self-esteem and confidence whilst inspiring young people to engage with education training and employment to prevent involvement in knife crime.

Delivering Contextual Safeguarding Workshops

To increase knowledge regarding contextual safeguarding across the community, including, identification, prevalence, prevention and the impact on children, families and the community.

This will also help support the sustainment of the project.
