Seven Social Care are looking for a SEN Manager to start a new role in Tameside. This is a temporary post initially for 6 months with the possibility of placement extension.

The role of a SEN Manager:

You will be responsible for the effective administration of the assessment and reassessment of pupils’ special educational needs, including their placement, monitoring and review. You will manage the delivery of an efficient, effective and timely Special Educational Needs and Disabilities service for pupils in mainstream schools to ensure pupils achieve to the best of their ability

Key Responsibilities as a SEN Manager:

To be responsible for the management, development and implementation of appropriate policies and practices throughout the Special Education Needs Service.

To be responsible for the statutory assessment process and co-ordinating the outcomes of statutory reviews of statements/ Education, Health and Care Plans for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in mainstream schools both in and out of the borough and to manage designated Casework Officers.

To develop and maintain effective relationships with headteachers, SENCOs and governors as appropriate in mainstream schools to ensure that the needs of pupils are met.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Experience: Substantial experience of managing a team. A comprehensive knowledge of the legislation, Codes of Practice and national guidance relating to the education of children with Special Educational Needs and its implications
  • Compliance: DBS on the Update Service, Right to Work in the UK
  • Hours: 37 hours a week
