Senior Accountant

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Senior Accountant to work in Norwich, Norfolk. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £25.84 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

Manage the budgeting and accounting activity for the relevant Directorates, to deliver an efficient and high quality service for services, including budgeting, accounting, budget monitoring, closure of accounts and reporting and the provision of effective advice and guidance to managers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the team delivery of service-based budgeting and accounting activity, ensuring these meet with financial systems and controls to ensure delivery of operational services to agreed standards, identification of areas for improvement and to achieve continuous improvements in customer satisfaction and response to client needs.

Provide appropriate financial advice, support and guidance to service managers and management teams, to ensure:

      The achievement of relevant financial standards and meeting of regulatory requirements that support the delivery of consistent, good quality, budgeting and accounting services.

The timely provision of accurate information and advice to financial service managers and business partners, directorate business managers and the Executive Director of Finance and Commercial Services to effectively support financial management of the Council’s resources.

That departmental revenue and capital budgets are prepared according to agreed standards and timescales and follow priorities set in the Medium Term Financial Strategy.

Implementation of changes from financial issues arising from new legislation.

Maintenance of accounts throughout the year and ensure they follow latest Financial Regulations, accounting policies and practices set by the Executive Director of Finance and Commercial Services.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified accountant to CCAB level.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: 2 x references and proof of right to work in the UK.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
