Senior Housing Officer (Housing Benefits and Planning)

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Senior Housing Officer (Housing Benefits and Planning) to work in Coalville. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £22.25 per hour (PAYE and umbrella payment options are available). Candidates need to be in a position to work full-time from Monday – Friday (8:45am – 5pm).

Key Responsibilities:

      To monitor the performance of staff and report regularly against set targets and objectives detailed in the Team Business Plan.

To supervise, support and develop the potential of individual members of the team to improve morale and empower officers.

To maximise income through effective rent account monitoring, enforcement action and prompt allocation of Council properties.

To develop services that create tangible improvements in neighbourhoods.

To improve and embed resident involvement in the Housing service and lead the Housing Management working group in addition to participating in other working groups where necessary.

To create a team where a culture of excellent customer service is a key focus for all job activities.

To grow talent and capability in the team by undertaking all employee appraisals timely and effectively, addressing any issues as appropriate.

To build pride, passion and reputation by creating a Council of excellence through strong motivational leadership.

To challenge and drive performance to create an excellent service and Council.

To give presentations to a variety of audiences as required.

To ensure that financial and corporate governance controls and are implemented whilst seeking areas for ongoing improvement.

To work effectively with elected members as appropriate.

To promote the Council’s Equality and Diversity Policy to ensure service provision and employment practices are non-discriminatory.

To participate in the Council’s appraisal scheme and to undertake any necessary training and development as identified for the job role.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A.
  • Experience: 2+ years working as a Senior Housing Officer.
  • Compliance: Current DBS check and references covering the last 2 years.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 36.25 hours p/w.
