Senior IDVA (Qualified)

Seven Social Care are looking for a Senior IDVA in Newham, London to work within a Domestic and Sexual Violence Service. Due to the nature of the role, the client has requested for only female applicants.

The role:

The service is based in Newham with co-locations across the borough. Working closely with key stakeholders such as the Police, local authority, social services and community groups, the aims of the service is to provide an integrated domestic abuse response to survivors of abuse to reduce risk and facilitate a life free from abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

      Responsible for the proactive running and day to day supervision of the service ensuring that women and children and men receive the relevant support and that all health and safety matters are fully addressed.

Help with access to legal advice, housing needs, tenancy support, support of children and access to learning or employment.

To attend meetings/forums addressing the needs of women, men and children who are experiencing domestic violence, with a particular focus on MARAC Team (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference) meetings. Covering MARAC admin when required and deputising MARAC coordination as required.

To provide practical and emotional support to women and men applying the principles of effective casework when supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence at the highest risk and their children and to advocate for survivors to ensure their needs are met.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience of working within a multi-agency setting. Knowledge of the support needs and support planning of women and children experiencing domestic violence.
  • Qualifications: Safe lives IDVA qualified or willingness to complete
  • Compliance: DBS (preferably on Update Service), Passport, CV
  • Travel: Able to travel and visit clients in their own home
  • Hours: 37 hours a week
