Senior IT Information Officer

Seven Resourcing is working with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to recruit a Senior Information Officer for their IT department.

£16.53ph

Initial 3 months with the possibility of extension.

Duties:

Skills & Abilities Ability to use and support Microsoft Office (namely MS Word, Excel & Outlook) at an intermediate level in an office environment. An understanding of how Microsoft Office is used in a school environment. Application & Interview

Ability to manage software upgrades from testing through to deployment across multiple network domains.

Ability to plan and execute the migration of software onto replacement servers.

Experience of deploying SIMS upgrades.

Experience of deploying SIMS upgrades through SOLUS 3.

Ability to configure and maintain SOLUS 3.

Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Ability to provide technical support and advice to other team members. Application & Interview

Highly developed trouble shooting and problem solving skills. Application & Interview

The ability to work unsupervised, using own initiative to plan and negotiate timescales and deadlines to manage conflicting priorities.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.

Able to travel to various locations throughout Solihull and very occasionally beyond.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Education & Qualifications Minimum 5 GCSE A*-C grades including English and Mathematics, or equivalent.
  • IT related qualifications at GCSE level or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience.
  • Experience: Experience of delivering support to individuals and groups in a variety of formats e.g. one to one, presentations, mentoring and induction support for newly appointed staff.

    Experience of developing policy, practice and guidance documentation. Experience of producing video tutorials.

    Previous school or local authority experience.

    Experience of responding to support calls via a service desk.

    Experience of training customers in the use of IT. Application & Interview

    Minimum of 2 years’ experience of Management Information Systems (MIS) either within an educational setting or support team environment.

    Minimum of 2 years’ experience of SIMS either within an educational setting or support team environment.

    Knowledge of Microsoft Server and Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Compliance: Up to date Passport right to work in the UK
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
