Senior Litigation & Planning Lawyer

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Senior Litigation and Planning Lawyer to work on an interim basis with Devon County Council for an initial period of 6 months.

37 Hours Per Week but we welcome applications from part time candidates.

£43.12 Per Hour (PAYE) or £55 Per Hour (Umbrella)

Remote working but will be required to attend court hearings & Committee meetings but expected to be no more than once a month.

The Job-

In addition to supporting Devon County Council, you will also support two National Park authorities.

You will manage a varied caseload including planning and enforcement advice, planning committee attendance and governance support, preparing planning agreements and advising on various aspects of highway and planning law.  You will also be expected to offer some supervision to junior members of the team.

Applicant Requirements-

• We are looking for an individual with excellent written and verbal skills.
• It is essential that the individual has substantial experience of planning law.
• You must be willing to learn new areas of law to be able to provide fast paced legal advice on a range of topics.
• Previous Local Government experience and general litigation experience is desirable but not essential.
• Qualification to practice as a Solicitor, Barrister or FCILEx
• Experience in Magistrates Court
• Knowledge of Local Government Law and law in relation to the practice area
• Experience in the provision of legal advice to a local authority.
