Senior Practitioner – Mash – Children

Seven Social Care are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Peterborough, UK. The candidate will collaborate with a range of stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people in the community.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and assess all incoming cases and referrals related to child protection in the assigned region.

2. Build relationships with multi-agency partners, including police, health, education, and social care providers, to share information and derive risk assessments.

3. Manage complex safeguarding cases from referral to conclusion, ensuring that decisions meet the requisite deadline and follow national and local policies and procedures.

4. Deliver high-quality written reports and conduct audit activity when required.

5. Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior staff members within the team to ensure best practice.

6. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and make necessary contributions.

7. Promote and practice effective communication with children, their families, and professionals.

8. Keep up to date with current legislation, guidelines, and policies affecting children and young people’s services.

Key Requirements:

1. Qualified Social Worker with a valid Social Work England registration.

2. Substantial experience in a child protection role with evidence of handling complex cases.

3. Excellent knowledge of child protection legislation and guidelines.

4. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple agencies.

5. Proven leadership ability with experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team.

6. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

7. Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

8. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Peterborough region.
