Senior Safeguarding Clerk

Seven Social Care are looking for two Senior Safeguarding Clerks to work with Gateshead Council within their Safeguarding Children Unit. 

There are two vacancies. one full-time and the second part-time.

Start Date – ASAP

Pay rate – £11.81 paye and £14.79 umbrella

The role:

An exciting opportunity exists for two Senior Safeguarding Clerks to join a friendly, motivated business support team, undertaking effective minute taking and contributing to the effective running of the Safeguarding Children Unit in Gateshead.

The Responsibilities:

To arrange Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, Secure Reviews, Complex Abuse Meetings and LADO Strategy Meetings by ensuring invitations are distributed to all relevant people within procedural timescales.

To attend Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, Secure Reviews, Complex Abuse Meetings and LADO Strategy Meetings to minute (using IT equipment) and produce an accurate record of the meeting discussion. To ensure child protection plans and all minutes from meetings are produced and distributed within procedural timescales. 

To ensure accurate performance data is inputted onto Mosaic (IT system) following all Child Protection Conferences, Secure Reviews and LADO Strategy Meetings.

To maintain appropriate records on the social care database and adhere to national and LA guidance on confidentiality and information-sharing.

To liaise with all staff in the Safeguarding Children Unit, Care Wellbeing and Learning, external agencies and service users, in order to ensure a high standard of service continues to be provided.

To assist the Business Support Coordinator in the monitoring of Business Support procedures.

To ensure the input and retrieval of information in respect of children who have to a Child Protection Plan or who are in our Care is accurate and up to date to ensure the ongoing provision of a high quality service.

To maintain and update manual and computerised information systems ensuring information used by the service is accurate and to assist with the auditing of data quality.  

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above or equivalent experience.

Experience: Organising, servicing and minuting meeting experience, with a knowledge of business support in a children and family or health background. 

Hours: 37 hours p/w or part-time hours to be confirmed.
