Senior Social Worker

Seven Social Care are currently seeking an experienced and adaptable Senior Social Worker to join our team in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, demonstrating exceptional understanding of the UK social care system, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals within the community.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide comprehensive social work services for individuals and families and practice high level skills in a community setting.

2. Responsible for carrying out an in-depth evaluation and assessment of client needs, implementing support plans, and performing follow-ups to ensure these plans are effective.

3. Be the point of contact for service users, their families, and associated services.

4. Manage complex cases, provide guidance to junior staff, and lead on safeguarding investigations.

5. Work with a multi-disciplinary team to meet the emotional, social, health and mental health needs of service users.

6. Actively participate in team meetings, supervision, training and development opportunities.

7. Coordinate and implement personalised care plans based on the unique requirements of each client.

8. Liaise with other professionals such as teachers, health visitors, GPs, and probation officers.

9. Implement and adhere to all government legislation associated with social work.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social work, Masters would be preferable.

2. Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

3. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a social worker, with at least 2 years’ in a senior role.

4. Strong knowledge of local and national social care legislation and guidelines.

5. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.

6. Ability to manage complex cases and make decisions under pressure.

7. Demonstrate exceptional organisational and time-management skills.

8. Ability to work flexibly – out of hours service may be required.

9. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle as travel within Birmingham will be required.

10. An Enhanced DBS check.
