Senior Social Worker – Adults

  • Location: Hillingdon, Greater London
  • Salary: £36 - £36 per hour
  • Type: Temporary / Full Time

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of adults in need, their families, and carers to formulate care plans that promote personalisation, wellbeing, independence, and ensure their needs are met.

2. Operate within the legal framework relevant to adult social care, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and other statutory instruments.

3. Lead, guide, and mentor junior social workers and provide robust case work supervision to improve performance and promote professional development.

4. Promote collaborative work with partners within the multidisciplinary team such as health professionals, voluntary sector colleagues, and independent providers to ensure a holistic approach is taken to support planning.

5. Maintain accurate and timely records of all work undertaken, including case management, safeguarding adults, and risk management processes.

6. Ensure the council delivers high-quality, customer-focused services to the adults and other vulnerable groups it supports, while continuously striving for improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

1. Must be a registered Social Worker with the Social Work England.

2. Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.

3. Extensive experience practising as a qualified social worker in an adult social care setting.

4. Sound knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures that protect and support adults in need.

5. Knowledge of current issues and initiatives in the delivery of social care.

6. Demonstrable experience in risk assessment and safeguarding.

7. Proven ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members.

8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

9. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands.

10. Must have a valid UK driving licence.
