Senior Social Worker, Initial Contact Team

Seven Social Care is looking for a Senior Social Worker Initial Contact Team in Shropshire

The role:

The post-holder will contribute to the development of a team of social workers and provide mentoring and coaching support as well as contribute their experience within co-working arrangements as directed by the team manager.

Key Responsibilities:

be responsible to the Team Manager, Initial Assessment Team, who is in turn responsible for the post holder’s health and safety, training and development. 

assist with the support and development of social workers within the team as directed by the manager 

be expected to lead and/or contribute to a range of projects and build relations with both internal and external partners in order achieve specified outcomes, but will not have direct authority over those involved.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

1. To visit and work with children and families as required in order to assess, plan and review their needs, to manage and reduce risk of significant harm

2. To engage children, their families, carers and the wider community to bring about change that will reduce risk and support children reaching their potential

3. To manage a complex to acute caseload, ensuring appropriate services and multi agency working is collaborative and is conducive to meeting the needs of those children and families

4. To be familiar with and use recognised tools and models of assessment to ensure good practice and well evidenced good quality assessments are completed to accurately identify need and provision of services, thereby contributing to the monitoring of valuable resources
