Senior Social Worker – LAC

Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Social Worker to join our Looked After Children (LAC) team in Hammersmith & Fulham. As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of children in care and ensuring their welfare and developmental needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead complex assessments, implement and review packages of support to meet the needs of children and their families.

2. Develop high-quality care plans for children in consultation with their families, placing children’s outcomes at the heart of all decision-making processes.

3. Regular home visits, school visits, and direct work with children.

4. Conduct regular reviews of cases, reassessments, and adapt plans under supervision.

5. Liaise and coordinate with other professionals, agencies and services to ensure the best outcomes for children.

6. Prepare high-quality reports for child protection conferences, court proceedings and other statutory reviews.

7. Promote the welfare of children and young people in line with local and national policy, statutory guidelines and best practice standards.

Requirements:

– Degree in Social Work or equivalent and registration with Social Work England.

– Minimum of three years post-qualified experience in children’s social work.

– Solid understanding of statutory legislation and guidelines in relation to LAC and child protection.

– Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

– Proven ability to handle a complex caseload.

– Excellent problem-solving skills, resilience and adaptability.

– Commitment to collaborative work with children, young people, their families and carers, and willingness to incorporate their views in practice.

– Ability to work flexible hours as required, including evenings and the possibility of some weekends.
