Senior Social Worker – Placement Team

  • Salary: £38 - £38 per hour

Seven Social Care are looking for an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated senior social worker to join our fast-paced Placement Team in Slough, UK.

In this role, you will form part of a structured team, working to ensure that children and young people receive appropriate care placements and the required services efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with children, young people, and their families to assess their needs and risk factors, ensuring the highest levels of care.

2. Collaborate with teams and agencies, including education, health services, and care providers, to put together integrated support plans.

3. Play a key role in the matching and placement of children into foster care and residential settings, tailored to their needs.

4. Undertake high-quality assessments and reports to the courts and child protection conference, following the statutory guidelines.

5. Apply legal and practice knowledge to cases, ensuring constructive challenge to improve standards of practice.

6. Help to create and uphold standards of professional practice within the team, leading by example and supporting professional development.

7. Respond to complex situations and make informed decisions to support and safeguard children and young people.

Requirements:

1. Qualified Social Worker with a significant experience in child protection and court work.

  

2. Registered with Social Work England.

3. Experience in the area of child placement, including adoption, foster care, and children with additional needs.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Strong knowledge of child development and understanding of the impact of abuse/neglect.

6. The ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions, maintaining high-quality records.

7. Good knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and guidance relating to children social work.

8. Proficiency in using relevant IT systems.

9. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.

10. Valid driving license and access to a car would be beneficial.
