Social Care Officer

Seven Social Care is looking for a Social Care Officer to work with Vale of Glamorgan Council in their family support teams.

The Vale of Glamorgan is seeking to recruit four Social Care Officers for a 3 month period to support out Family Support Teams thorough a period of high demand. Social Care Officers carry a workload of Care and Support Cases and also support social workers in managing more complex families. Applicants must be qualified to at least NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) and level 3 is desirable as is experience of working within Children’s Services. You can expect regular supervision and a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities of the Social Care Officer:

  • To manage a caseload consistent with responsibilities and grade
  • To provide high quality services to children, young people and theirfamilies/carers
  • To undertake direct work with children, young people and their families and carers under the guidance and supervision of your supervisor
  • To undertake Assessments and Care and Support Plans in line with the Social Services and Well Being (Wales)Act.

Social Care Officer Requirements:

  • Experience working within a social care setting; experience in local government would be an advantage.
  • A clear understanding of the legislative framework related to social care delivery in the UK.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with an ability to handle multiple case loads efficiently.
  • A commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
  • A compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to care.
