Social Work Assistant

Seven Social Care are looking for Social Work Assistants to work with Durham County Council’s Supervised Contact Service. These positions are initially for 3 months and will be paid between £12.47 – £15.00 per hour via an umbrella company. 

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Work Assistant role in the Children in Care service. A Social Work Assistant is required to work with Children in Our care, their carers and their families.

The role will be to support and supervise children and young people to spend time with their family members, to be able to work with children, young people and their families as required within their care plans. Social Work Assistant must be able to drive and have their own car. Flexible working hours are available.

Key Responsibilities:

– To supervise and ensure the safe conveyance of children and young people to and from contact venues.

– To use observation and assessment skills appropriately to provide detailed and accurate recording.

–  To ensure that feedback is obtained from families through questions/feedback on the quality of the service received.

– To promote the participation of users and carers in all aspects of the service and to liaise with other agencies whenever necessary.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

 NVQ in Health and Social Care. 

Experience:  2+ years working within a similar role. 

Compliance:  Recent DBS check. 

Travel:  Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours:  37.5 hours p/w.
