Social Work Assistant

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking a Social Work Assistant to work within Durham Council. This is a full time hybrid position, and we are paying £14 per hour for this role. 

 

The role:

 

A Social Work Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting social workers and other professionals in providing services to individuals, families, and communities. The specific duties and responsibilities of a Social Work Assistant may vary depending on the organization and the nature of the social work setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist social workers in assessing the needs of clients and families.
  • Provide emotional support and assistance to clients facing various challenges.
  • Help clients navigate social services and resources.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to identify and connect with individuals in need.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to enhance support services.
  • Distribute information about available resources to the community.
  • Work closely with social workers to implement treatment plans and interventions.
  • Communicate regularly with social work team members to share information and updates on client cases.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute insights into client needs and progress.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths.

    Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience

  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 
  • Compliance: Current Standard DBS check. 
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
