Social Work Assistant (Adult)

Seven Social Care are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Social Work Assistant to support our adult social work team in Merton, UK. This role offers the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and progress in their social work career whilst making a real difference in the lives of adults within the community.

Responsibilities:

1. Assisting social workers in providing support and direct care to adults within the community setting who are facing various challenges, such as disability, mental health issues, and other social disadvantages.

2. Undertaking assessments of individual’s needs under the supervision of a qualified social worker.

3. Helping to devise, implement, and evaluate care plans to improve the quality of life for service users.

4. Undertaking home visits, where necessary, to assess the patients’ social, emotional and environmental status.

5. Assisting with case administration, preparing relevant paperwork and reports.

6. Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and liaising with other health professionals including doctors, nurses, and therapists to ensure service users get the comprehensive support they need.

7. Maintaining updated and accurate records of each service user’s progress and challenges.

Qualifications:

1. A relevant diploma or degree, or equivalent experience in social care, social work or a related discipline.

2. Good understanding of professional principles and ethics related to social work.

3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.

4. Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.

5. Knowledge of assessment techniques, care planning and case management.

6. Clear understanding of confidentiality protocols and safeguarding issues.

7. Valid UK driving licence may be required
