Social Worker – Children and Family Safeguarding Team

Seven Social Care are looking for a dedicated Social Worker to join our Children and Family Safeguarding Team in Taunton. The successful candidate will focus on safeguarding, supporting, and enhancing the welfare of children and their families. The role requires someone with strong resilience and the ability to manage potentially complex cases.

Key Responsibilities:

– Undertake assessment of risk involving safeguarding of children and vulnerable families.

– Manage a diverse caseload, which will include the most vulnerable children and their families.

– Implement child protection and child in need plans.

– Conduct home visits, writing reports, and liaising with other agencies around safeguarding related issues.

– Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to decision making.

– Monitor, evaluate and record progress with treatment plans, and respond to changes in circumstances.

Expected Qualifications and Experience:

– Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.

– Registration with Social Work England.

– Significant post-qualifying experience as a Social Worker, particularly within child protection.

– Proven ability to work effectively within safeguarding procedures and legislation.

– Experience of managing a diverse caseload, whilst maintaining high standards of practice.

Key Skills:

– Strong understanding of child protection practice and safeguarding.

– Ability to work within and contribute to a team.

– Strong interpersonal communication and organisation skills.

– Good understanding of therapeutic approaches.

– Ability to manage and prioritise workload, working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
