Social Worker Children and Family’s Team

Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Children and Family Team in Barnstaple, UK. The ideal candidate will work to safeguard, advocate for, and promote the welfare and wellbeing of children, young persons, and families within the community.

Responsibilities:

1. Handle and manage cases involving children at risk, children in care, and children in need, thereby ensuring their safety and welfare.

2. Conduct comprehensive assessments of the needs of children and families, taking into consideration their views and wishes while developing and implementing action plans.

3. Provide ongoing support, advice, and counselling to children, young persons, and their families.

4. Liaise with and refer clients to appropriate support services and community resources.

5. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including educators, health professionals, and law enforcement to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

6. Prepare detailed reports and maintain up-to-date records of case management for legal proceedings and reviews.

7. Promote and adhere to children’s rights and best interests in accordance with UK legislation and local policies.

8. Participate in regular supervision and training sessions for professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Proven experience as a Social Worker in children and family services.

2. A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.

3. Strong understanding and application of UK child protection laws and procedures.

4. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

5. Ability to effectively manage a high caseload and work under pressure.

6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

7. Possess a valid driving license and willingness to travel.
