Social Worker – Children, Young People and Families

Seven Social Care are looking to recruit a passionate and dedicated Social Worker, wishing to contribute to the wellbeing of children, young people, and families within the Ledbury area. As an experienced social worker, you will play a crucial role in building relationships, understanding and managing risk, preventing harm, and providing an essential service to improve the lives of children and young people within the community.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage a varied caseload related to child protection, children in need, and children in care including planning, implementation, and evaluation of appropriate action to ensure desired outcomes.

  

2. Work collaboratively with other agencies, families, and individuals to assess needs and risk, developing appropriate plans of action to provide support.

  

3. Conduct thorough, holistic assessments of children and their families’ situations, whilst taking into account community resources and capacities.

  

4. Advocate for resources and services for children, young people, and families when needed.

  

5. Maintain high-quality case records and reports, documenting all activity and updating them as required by professional, statutory, and organisational standards.

  

6. Attend and contribute positively to regular supervision and appraisal processes.

  

7. Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.

  

2. Significant experience working with children, young people, and families in a social work setting.

  

3. Demonstrable knowledge of children’s legislation and national/local policy frameworks.

  

4. Strong assessment, analytical, and planning skills.

  

5. Excellent communication and interagency working skills.

  

6. An understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities, anti-discriminatory practice, and the rights of children and young people.

  

7. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
