Social Worker – Childrens

Seven Social Care are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker focusing on Children’s Services to join our team at Shropshire Council. The successful candidate will be providing vital, life-enhancing support to children, including those who are in the care system, on the edge of care or within child protection proceedings.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage caseloads of children and families to provide assessment, planning, implementation, and review.

2. Develop strong relationships with children and their families to promote their wellbeing and safety.

3. Prepare and contribute to court reports and attend court as necessary, presenting testimony and evidence about family dynamics and individual behaviours.

4. Advise on the provision of suitable education and community resources.

5. Develop and review high-quality child protection and childcare plans.

6. Collaborate with a range of professionals, such as psychologists, health visitors, teachers, and probation officers.

7. Assisting families through crisis situations and liaising with outside agencies when required.

8. Provide advice, support, and guidance to help users of the service.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent and must be HCPC registered.

2. Experience in Children’s Services social work, particularly in areas of child protection, vulnerable children, or similar.

3. Understanding of legislation, regulations, and policies impacting child protection.

4. Up-to-date knowledge of relevant professional practices.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Candidates should possess a clean driving license and have access to a vehicle for work purposes, as travelling may be required.
