Social Worker – Disabled Children’s Team – Part Time

Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Social Worker to join our Disabled Children’s Team in Eastleigh. In this role, you will be working closely with disabled children and their families, providing vital support and making a real difference to their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct initial assessments to fully understand the needs and requirements of disabled children and their families.

2. Develop, implement and review plans of care that meet each child’s individual needs.

3. Provide emotional and practical support to families in crisis or facing significant life changes.

4. Liaise and collaborate with other agencies and professionals (such as doctors, therapists, and teachers) to support the child’s welfare.

5. Periodically review child’s progress and reassess the appropriateness of intervention strategies.

6. Advocate for the rights of disabled children and their families within complex systems of care, and identify gaps in services and resources.

7. Monitor, evaluate and make recommendations on policies affecting disabled children and their families.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, Masters preferred.

2. Registered with Social Work England or similar recognised professional entity.

3. Proven experience of working with disabled children and families in crisis.

4. A good understanding of child protection procedures.

5. Knowledge of the legislative environment impacting social work.

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Hours: This is a part-time position. Working hours will be discussed in more detail during the interview process. You may be required to work some evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the services.
