Social Worker – Fostering

Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker specialising in Fostering for our dynamic team in Barnet, UK. This role will be at the forefront of delivering excellent social services, ensuring the safety, welfare, and development of children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

– Assess and evaluate the needs of children and young people in foster care, developing comprehensive care plans addressing their welfare, education, mental and physical health where required.

– Regularly visit and monitor foster care placements, ensuring they meet the standards set by the local authority and statutory guidelines.

– Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other key professionals, contributing meaningfully to multidisciplinary teams.

– Coordinate and manage diverse caseloads, ensuring that relevant paperwork and record-keeping are accurate, up-to-date, and in line with data protection laws and guidelines.

– Provide support, advice, and guidance to foster carers, helping them manage and address various behavioural and other care-related issues.

– Participate in regular multi-agency meetings and case reviews, advocating for the rights and needs of children and young people in foster care.

Key Requirements:

– Must hold a recognised Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work/DipSW or equivalent).

– Registration with Social Work England.

– A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and guidelines related to fostering and social care in the UK.

– Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and other professionals.

– Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills.

– Full valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle.

– Flexibility to work outside of standard office hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
