Social Worker – Fostering Team

Seven Social Care are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Fostering Team in Bournemouth. This is a dynamic role offering the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of children and young people.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people appropriate to experience and capabilities.

2. Develop and nurture positive professional relationships with carers, birth families, and other relevant professionals.

3. Undertake an assessment of potential foster carers, ensuring they meet the necessary standards and requirements.

4. Prepare and present reports to fostering panels and contribute effectively to the decision-making process.

5. Provide training, advice, and support to foster families, both individually and within group settings.

6. Continuously monitor and review the care provided by foster carers and conduct regular home visits.

7. Respond effectively to safeguarding concerns within placements.

8. Participate in regular supervision and professional development activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Must have a relevant social work qualification (Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).

2. Must be registered with Social Work England.

3. Must have an in-depth knowledge of social work principles, UK legislation and guidance, in particular related to children, young people, and fostering.

4. Strong skills in building rapport and trust with children, young people, and families.

5. Excellent organisational, report writing and time management skills.

6. Must have a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle.

Working hours:

This is a full time position with an expected commitment of 37 hours a week. However, flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the foster families and children, which may require occasional evening or weekend work.
