Social Worker – MASH Team

Seven Social Care are looking for 1 MASH Social Worker to work for Plymouth City Council based in Plymouth.This position is full time (37 hours per week) and is paying £47.52 per hour. 

This is a hybrid role.

The Role:

The role is Monday-Friday, with a need for you to be based in or around Plymouth as most of your time will be spent with families and partner agencies, across Plymouth. Some of your time will be office-based, in our new offices, where all of children’s social care are co-located (Ballard House)

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work collaboratively with partner agencies, other Children and Families’ Staff as part of the MASH, providing appropriate advice and guidance, participating in multi-agency

    assessments and analysis, leading to clear recommendations.

    Promoting the welfare and protection of children and young people who are referred to MASH by professionals, parents/carers and others.

  • Identifying child protection concerns which require an immediate response by the Intake / Child Protection Teams.
  • Maintaining effective interagency relationships with Police, Neighbourhood Services,
  • Voluntary Agencies and other Children and Families Service staff.
  • Facilitating MASH Discussions and providing assessments and analysis, which lead to clear recommendations for the Named Person, Lead Professional and other relevant professionals.
  • Participating in individual supervision sessions, team meetings and other meetings as required and implementing agreed actions and decisions.

    Others duties as directed by the MASH Team Manager, such as information gathering, undertaking assessments and prioritising referrals in terms of risk and need.

  • To prepare for, attend and contribute to task-related meetings such as MASH Discussions and other meetings.
  • To maintain accurate, up-to-date, and accountable professional records in respect of children and families referred to MASH in line with DATA Protection Legislation.
  • To identify and participate in relevant CPD opportunities to ensure skill levels are maintained and improved, along with knowledge of relevant issues.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years working in a similar role.
  • Compliance: Up to date DBS/SWE Registration
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
