Social Worker – Mental Health Team

Seven Social Care are looking for an enthusiastic, qualified Social Worker to join our Mental Health Team. This is a great opportunity for a passionate individual to provide direct support and care to individuals living with various mental health challenges, within the local community of Truro, UK. The applicant must be motivated, empathetic, and capable of providing outstanding welfare support.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate, advocate and support individuals living with mental health conditions and their families.

2. Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users to analyze their needs and preferences.

3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and review individual care/development plans.

4. Liaise with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, welfare institutions, and families to ensure the best support for service users.

5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation including assessment files, reports, care plans, etc.

6. Regularly participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings to discuss clients’ treatments or service plans.

7. Nurture a supportive and inclusive environment respecting the diversity and individual needs of clients.

8. Conduct risk assessments and devise strategies to manage risks, ensuring the safety of service users.

9. Follow all legal, ethical, and professional guidelines pertaining to social work practice.

Qualification & Skills:

1. Qualified Social Worker with a Degree or Masters in social work from an accredited university.

2. Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, UK.

3. Significant experience in mental health social work practice.

4. Demonstrated understanding of mental health legislation, policy, and procedures.

5. Proficient communication skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships.

6. Able to work effectively in a team as well as independently.

7. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and ability to make sound judgments.

8. Highly organized with the ability to manage a wide range of tasks to meet tight deadlines.

9. Proficiency in maintaining professional and comprehensive records.

10. A high degree of emotional resilience to manage the demands of the role.

This role involves working with vulnerable individuals, so the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
