Social Worker – Mental Health Team

Seven Social Care are looking for a Mental Health Social Worker to work with Cornwall County Council based in Truro. This position is paying up to £39.55 per hour and is a hybrid working arrangement.

Mental Health experience isn’t mandatory.

The Role:

Mental Health Review Team will review and/or re-assess the social care needs of a number of residents in receipt of packages of care being transferred from the local NHS mental health trust to ASC following the ending of the s.75 (NHS Act) arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be aware of and demonstrate adherence to Policies & Procedures e.g. Code of Conduct, national legislation, Health & Safety, Data Protection, Protection of Vulnerable Adults and Safeguarding.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work as a member of a team supporting service users in the community and to participate in and contribute to team meetings. 
  • Evidence of the successful use of communication skills and ability to be diplomatic and work on a one to one basis in the community. 
  • Evidence of an approachable manner and an aptitude for supporting people in the community. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to input information using a computer. 
  • Proven ability to read and write routine reports, records and reviews as needed. 
  • Evidence of the ability to maintain confidentiality of all information acquired whilst undertaking duties in or out of the day service 
  • Evidence of previous experience in supporting and encouraging customers in their daily activities as stated in their Personal Care Plans and to treat people with care, respect and dignity at all times Demonstrates ability to support customers with their personal care and mobility needs and to provide practical help with the use of care aids and equipment.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree approved by Social Work England.
  • Experience: 2+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.
  • Compliance: Up to date SWE registration and DBS.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
