Social Worker – Permanency Lead

Seven Social Care are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker – Permanency Lead to join our team in Cheltenham, UK. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and administering permanency plans for individuals in care.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Establish permanency planning, including reconciliation/ reunification, independent living, adoption, long-term care, or other treatments.

2. Collate, analyse and evaluate data from the field staff to enhance permanency outcomes.

3. Facilitate several permanency-focused activities to engage foster parents, children, biological parents, and other key stakeholders.

4. Offer expert advice on critical permanency decisions.

5. Develop and maintain professional partnerships with other social agencies, service providers, and community organisations.

6. Provide appropriate professional and technical advice to staff in the performance of their duties.

7. Undertake regular reviews of plans to ensure that long-term decisions are being achieved within agreed timescales.

8. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for legal action, complete forms for funding and network services.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. A bachelor’s degree in social work or equivalent qualification.

2. Current registration with the Social Work England.

3. Proven experience in the field of Social Work, specifically with adolescents.

4. Strong knowledge of adoption, foster care, kinship care, and other permanency planning strategies.

5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

6. Good leadership and management skills.

7. Knowledge of local resources and services within the Cheltenham area would be an advantage.

8. The ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.
