Social Worker – Safeguarding Team

Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Team based in Torquay, UK. In this role, you will play a critical role in securing the well-being and safety of the vulnerable individuals within our community, including children, young people, and adults.

Responsibilities:

1. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate effective interventions in response to concerns around safeguarding children or adults.

2. Employ a strength-based approach to enable individuals and their families to safely manage their lives independently.

3. Liaise effectively with other professionals and agencies to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to all levels of care and protection.

4. Prepare high-quality reports for safeguarding and child protection case conferences, court proceedings and other multi-agency meetings.

5. Contribute to, and review, the development of ongoing plans for clients.

6. Provide emotional support to individuals and families during challenging situations.

7. Keep accurate records and write reports for legal proceedings.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Must have a Degree in Social Work and a valid registration with Social Work England.

2. Proven experience within a safeguarding role, preferably within a similar demographic.

3. Excellent understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

4. Able to maintain professionalism in high-stress scenes and situations.

5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

6. Excellent relationship-building skills, with a focus on working with children, families, and vulnerable adults.

7. A high degree of self-motivation, with the ability to manage workload effectively.

8. Ability to work comfortably within a team environment.

9. Knowledge or understanding of current UK legislation pertaining to social work and safeguarding.
