Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Childrens) (Childrens Services)

Seven Social Care are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled Social Worker/Senior Practitioner to join our children’s service team. The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people across Staffordshire.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage a complex caseload involving various levels of risk and needs assessments.

2. Deliver high-quality support and services to children and families, with a focus on early intervention, and safeguarding.

3. Lead the way in complex child protection investigations and offer expert professional advice to team members.

4. Devise, implement, and review Individual Development Plans that are tailored to children’s specific needs.

5. Provide robust and evidence-based written reports for child protection conferences, court proceedings, looked-after children reviews and other relevant meetings.

6. Adhere to professional practice standards and legislation, including data protection, safeguarding, and equal opportunities.

7. Communicate effectively and work seamlessly with service partners to deliver integrated services for children and their families.

Qualifications:

1. Diploma in social work or relevant degree (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.

2. Significant proven experience working in a statutory child protection team dealing with complex child protection cases, including court work, assessments, and care planning.

3. Knowledge of current legislation and policy relating to children and families, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.

4. Strong ability to build and maintain partnerships with internal and external agencies.

5. High-level communication and reporting skills, both written and verbal.

6. Ability to manage high levels of stress, meet strict deadlines and make sound judgments in complex situations.

7. Clean driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the need to travel within the area.

Please note that this role demands flexibility, as some out-of-hours and weekend work may be required due to emergency situations.
