Specialist Family Support Worker (Looked After Through Care Team)

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking a Specialist Family Support Worker to work within Durham Council for the Looked After Through Care Team. This is a part time position, and we are paying £19.05 per hour for this role. 

 

The role:

We are looking for someone to complete welfare checks to a young person weekdays 9.30pm and weekends 10.30am and 9.30pm in the Darlington area. This is a bespoke piece of work. Each check should take approx 30mins therefore the contract would be 1 hour per day. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular welfare checks on the young person at specified times, following the schedule provided.
  • Assess the living conditions, emotional well-being, and overall safety of the young person during each visit.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with the young person, their family, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of each welfare check, documenting observations, concerns, and any notable changes in the young person’s situation.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to the young person, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise during the welfare checks.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards or risks to the young person’s well-being.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, counsellors, or healthcare providers, to ensure a holistic approach to the young person’s support.
  • Be prepared to intervene in crisis situations and follow appropriate protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of the young person.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths.

    Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience

  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 
  • Compliance: Current Standard DBS check. 
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
