Specialist Nurse Prescriber

Seven Resourcing  are looking for two passionate, motivated individuals to provide specialist nurse prescribing to provide a range of clinical interventions within the substance misuse service, working in collaboration with the recovery caseworkers to delivery an effective, comprehensive package of care.

This is a full-time role working with Middlesbrough Council across 3 local locations.

Responsibilities: 

Prescribe and review medication for accordance with evidence-based practice and national and local protocols.

Identify and assess suitability of service users for in-patient alcohol and opioid detoxification.

Assess physical and mental health needs.

Proactively in the prevention, identification, and treatment of blood borne viruses.

Support service users to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles.

Requirements:

Be a qualified non-medical prescriber.

Have at least one year’s relevant and recent experience of working within substance misuse treatment.

Sound and demonstrable knowledge of clinical prescribing, harm reduction and health promotion interventions.

The ability to communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing.

Enhanced DBS against adults and children.
