Structural Engineer

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Structural Engineer to work on an interim basis with Bristol City Council for an initial period of 2 months.

37 Hours Per Week

£23.03 Per Hour (PAYE) or £28.70 Per Hour (Umbrella)

Flexible working around 3 days in the office during probation period then most likely working from home thereafter. Will need to attend site meeting when required.

The Job-

Provide professional surveying services and project management, particularly those involving structural, dimensional, and topographical surveys and design solutions, to the City Council’s stock of dwellings, buildings and land managed by Landlord Services. Ensure work carried out is of the highest quality and achieves value for money. Plan, monitor and control all aspects of the programme, seeking best practice, ideas and innovation and ensuring they are applied to the project. Achieve the project’s objectives within the defined schedules, costs, and performance parameters. Take ownership, be responsible and accountable for all aspects of the project, programme, or service from end-to-end and to champion the experience of the customer in order to maximise customer satisfaction.

  • Carry out structural surveys and provide detailed reports, assessments, and design solutions, as required.
  • Provide detailed design advice to project/programme managers/supervisors for major construction projects and programmes.
  • Achieve programme objectives through the application of appropriate project methodology, by;
  1. Defining scope of projects and programmes
  2. Setting up appropriate project structures
  3. Identifying and securing resource requirements
  4. Achieving project team commitment
  5. Ensuring quality control and reporting progress
  6. Preparing and delivering to programme plans

Applicant Requirements-

  • Degree in Structural engineering, diploma or HNC equivalent or equivalent professional qualification in a construction field and corporate membership of the institution of structural Engineers or with substantial post qualification experience AND able to demonstrate significant relevant knowledge of complex structures.
  • Practical experience in a role as “technical expert” in a building, surveying/ structural surveying or similar construction related environment providing design solutions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of project management and demonstrable project management skills.
  • Must hold a valid, full Driver’s license.
