Job Title: Substance Misuse Worker – Worcester/Malvern Scale 6 35 Hours per Week Location: County Hall, Worcester (with flexible working options) Permanent, Full-time The Role: As part of our Worcestershire Children First (WCF) business plan we are taking our Supporting Families First approach to delivering in house multi-disciplinary direct work further to our Children in Need. The main aim of this innovative way of working is to enable families to create and continue positive change in order to prevent family breakdown. This is an excellent time to join an evolving modern approach of supporting families within our Worcester or Wyre Forest/Bromsgrove Pod Team as a Substance Misuse Worker. You will need to have great communication skills and be confident talking to a wide range of people, as well as experience working with people who have drug and alcohol issues. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate substance misuse support to adults and children. Using harm reduction methodology so individuals can positively change their lives and parents/carers can provide safe care for children. You will be need to working holistically with service users and arranging access to other services, to assist with practical problems that have been created as a result of substance misuse for example housing, finance or healthcare issues.
