Supervising Social Worker – Fostering Team

Seven Social Care are currently seeking an experienced, dedicated, and empathetic Supervising Social Worker to join our Fostering Team in Bristol. This unique position offers an enriching opportunity to help shape the future for children and young adults in the foster care system.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage an assigned case-load of foster families, ensuring the welfare of all individuals involved.

2. Conduct regular home visits and reviews on placements, addressing any identified issues or concerns.

3. Act as the primary point of contact for the foster families regarding any support or guidance.

4. Liaise with various stakeholders, including internal team, local authorities, and healthcare professionals.

5. Deliver comprehensive reports detailing the developmental progress and welfare of the children.

6. Participate in regular team meetings, imparting updates and contributing to strategic discussion.

7. Provide ongoing training and support to foster families to maintain quality of care.

8. Respond to emergency concerns or situations outside of regular working hours as required.

Qualifications:

1. Must be a qualified and registered social worker with the HCPC.

2. A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role is essential.

3. Strong knowledge of the UK fostering services and relevant legislation.

4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to empathize with, encourage and motivate others.

5. High level of self-motivation, with the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.

6. Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
