Support Worker

Seven Social Care is looking for a Support Worker at Cambridge City Council 

The role:

To provide support to older people in Cambridge and carry out basic checks in sheltered housing schemes. 

Must  have DBS

–    To provide support to older people in Cambridge in line with their support plans, updating these support plans as required. 

–    To undertake basic checks in sheltered housing schemes to ensure there are no repair issues 

–    To telephone and/or visit clients in line with their support plan and record notes on their file 

–    To ensure residents in sheltered housing schemes regularly test their alarms 

–    To contact other professionals on behalf of the client as required, e.g. GP or Social Worker 

–    To encourage your clients to be independent and to attend social activities at the sheltered housing scheme 

–    To support clients who move in and out of sheltered housing scheme including help where needed with setting up utilities, applying for grants etc.

–    To be competent in the use of IT systems including excel, word and outlook.

–    To respond to emergencies as necessary including dialling 999 in an emergency 

–    To risk assess clients who may present with challenging needs and to complete relevant risk assessment forms.

–    To report any safeguarding concerns 

–    To signpost and assist customers to other services where necessary 

–    To act as the face of the Council and first point of contact for the service.
