Support Worker

Seven Social Care has a great opportunity for Children’s Residential Support Workers to work around the vibrant Brighton area in East Sussex.

The work schedule is flexible. Support workers typically work from 8am – 10pm with the opportunity for sleep in shifts for additional pay. The waking night shifts are from 10pm – 8am.


The role:

  • Assisting the young people with day-to-day tasks (education, laundry, shopping, budgeting, college applications and teaching independent life skills)
  • Accompany the young people out in the community (doctor’s appointments, leisure activities)
  • Supporting and monitoring their healthcare needs, including administering medication.
  • Seek to understand their communication needs and adapting your communication to each individual young person.
  • Working with other professionals, such as doctors, therapists, and outside agencies to ensure consistency of support.
  • Complete daily logs and weekly reports
  • Partake in Key work with the young people.
  • Follow structured reporting procedures.
  • Liaise with social workers.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures.
  • Develop positive relationships with colleagues and other key stakeholders.
  • Attend and participate in team, departmental and other relevant internal meetings, such as training, supervision, and appraisal to support the provision of high standard of care to our young people.
  • Attend and contribute to staff training and any other training identified as appropriate for the role.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Experience: 1+ years experience working with children with challenging behaviour, in the UK
  • Compliance: RTW in the UK with no restrictions
