Support Worker – Supported Living

Sunderland Care and Support is looking for Support Workers to join our Supported Living Service to support vulnerable people across the City of Sunderland.

This role is paying an hourly rate of £14.88

The contracts available are 32 or 37 hours per week.

The role:

The aim of Supported Living Services is to take a holistic approach to supporting adults with a learning disability, mental health need or physical disability to achieve and maintain community living independently within their own home or tenancy.

Working in partnership with registered social landlords and health professionals, Sunderland Care and Support have been able to design and provide a wide variety of supported living options across the City which meet the customer requirements.

Sunderland Care and Support are committed to working with each individual customer enabling individuals to access accommodation which is a genuine alternative to traditional residential care. Supported Living Services offer a wide range of support which is innovative, creative and personalised around their own identified needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • We are looking for people who have had some experience in working with vulnerable people.
  • As an agency worker we will expect that you are able to work a range of shift patterns including – sleep over, waking night.
  • All staff appointed need to be flexible, work some weekends and bank holidays and be able to work and travel across the City of Sunderland.
  • Due to the nature of the role we require agency staff to have a good level and literacy and numeracy skills and who can record and contribute to care planning.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A
  • Experience: 2+ years working in a similar role.
  • Compliance: Up to date DBS and a UK right to work full time hours
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 32 or 37 hours p/w.
