Support Worker – Supported Living (Full Time Only)

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking a Support Worker to work within Sunderland Council. This is a full time position, and we are paying £14.48 per hour for this role. 32 and 37hour positions available, working as part of a core rota.

 

The role:

To assist individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges in achieving a fulfilling and independent lifestyle within a community setting. You will provide support, encouragement, and guidance to enable residents to participate in various daily activities and live as independently as possible. This role requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to promoting the well-being and empowerment of individuals with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Develop and implement person-centered support plans tailored to the unique needs and goals of each resident.
  • Assist individuals in activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Encourage and empower residents to make choices, develop skills, and engage in social and community activities.
  • Support individuals in developing and maintaining relationships with family, friends, and the broader community.
  • Monitor and promote the physical and mental health of residents.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with health care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and support plans.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, providing insights and updates on residents’ progress.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to crisis situations, following established protocols and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths.

    Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience

  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 
  • Compliance: Current Standard DBS check. 
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
